The municipality had some unused space in the courtyard of the sheltered housing facility and was looking for a way to reduce the ongoing electricity costs associated with the daily needs of the residents. The goal was to provide a more sustainable and cost-effective energy solution that would not only reduce costs but also improve the social housing facility’s energy independence.
We installed a ground-mounted photovoltaic system in the yard of the “protected-type” municipal housing unit, mounted on a sturdy metal structure designed to optimally capture solar energy throughout the year. We chose this solution because the municipality had available space in the yard, which allowed for the construction of a ground-mounted system without taking up other usable areas or requiring a rooftop installation.
Since the power plant went online, the assisted living facility has been generating its own electricity from its yard, which has significantly reduced its dependence on expensive grid power. Monthly electricity bills have become lower and more predictable, and the previously unused yard space now works daily to benefit the people living there. As a result, the municipality achieved a higher degree of energy self-sufficiency and a more stable financial outlook for the project.
